Sculpture, drawing, photography, and artistic research into contemporary identities
An artist, educator, and researcher who uses expanded sculpture, drawing, and photography to examine the tensions between the body, the logic of contemporary labour, youth disillusionment, and systems of control.
Currently a doctoral candidate in the prestigious La realitat assajada programme at the University of Barcelona—where he also works as an associate professor in the field of Digital Applications—Joan Pallé holds a Master of Fine Arts from the renowned FHNW Institute Art in Basel, Switzerland. His career includes high-impact residencies and research projects supported by leading institutions such as the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA), in collaboration with Sala d’Art Jove, Centre d’Art La Panera, and the Centre for Art and Nature in Farrera.
With a strong presence in the European institutional art market and at major international fairs such as ARCO Madrid and Art Brussels, he has presented solo exhibitions at prominent venues including ADN Galeria in Barcelona and Centre d’Art La Panera. His work has also been shown internationally at the Tinguely Museum in Basel, Kunsthaus Baselland in Switzerland, and the Fabra i Coats cultural centre in Barcelona.
Els joves infeliços (2026): A solo exhibition presented at Centre d’Art La Panera that explores the unease experienced by contemporary youth in relation to systems of production and the impossibility of projected futures.
Reject Reductionism, Embrace Complexity (2024): A research-creation installation presented at Casa de l’Ardiaca during Barcelona’s Panoràmic Festival, deconstructing the reductive narratives of identity promoted by digital interfaces.
