- - Section
The official film and digital selection for the 25th International Image Festival presents 45 audiovisual works from countries including Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Canada, and China. The programs explore artificial intelligence, extractivism, algorithmic memory, and socio-environmental crises.
The works brought together in this edition explore different ways of relating to our present and to the marks it leaves behind. Emerging from diverse geographies and artistic languages, these proposals raise questions about what we remember, what we choose to preserve, and the possibilities of building new networks through shared experience. In this way, Cine(Y)Digital is conceived as a space for slowing down the gaze and reclaiming the potential of images as devices for thought, memory, and encounter.
On this occasion, we welcome Sobre Ruedas, an initiative based in Manizales committed to audiovisual creation and circulation throughout Colombia’s Coffee Region. Through its work, it has established itself as an active participant in the cultural scene of our city. Its participation expands the possibilities for encounters between audiovisual practices, territories, and communities, strengthening the networks that run throughout this edition of the Festival.
The Cine(Y)Digital program is part of the 25th International Image Festival and brings together a selection of works from 14 countries: Germany, Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Cuba, Spain, Italy, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the Dominican Republic. Through this geographical and aesthetic diversity, the section offers a journey across different ways of sensing, thinking about, and constructing images in the present.

SURVIVALS
Snakes (2024) by Jean-Michel Rolland - France
Snakes is part of Body Limits, a series of 12 works that use performative videos found on the Internet. The multiplication of bodies and the transformations applied to color and speed turn these videos into works of video art that question the boundary between figuration and abstraction.
The original soundtracks have been preserved. Slowed down to the same speed as the image and enriched with various effects, they contribute to the aesthetics of these détournements, or appropriations.
The body, pushed to its limits, transcends itself to give life to new representations of physical activity.
