The 22nd International Academic Forum on Design and Creation 2026 is a space for reflection and dialogue within the International Image Festival.
The Forum brings together academic and creative voices to share experiences, research and contemporary perspectives on design, creation and visual culture.

The International Academic Forum on Design and Creation 2026 is organized by the University of Caldas in Manizales and Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogotá.
As part of the 25th edition of the International Image Festival, the Forum proposes the theme SENSO/grafías. This concept explores the intersection of image, body and living archives as territories of knowledge, memory and transformation.
In addition, the Forum examines these relationships in a world shaped by emerging technologies and new image ecologies.
The 22nd International Academic Forum on Design and Creation will take place in person in Manizales at the main campus of the University of Caldas.
Admission will be free and open to the public. Activities will take place on September 15, 16, 17 and 18, 2026, during the afternoon.
The Forum will include poster and paper presentation categories. In addition, the program will be organized into four thematic panels.

Abstracts of accepted papers and posters will be published in the official event catalogue.
Full papers will later undergo peer review. This institutional process is required for publication in the Forum’s digital academic proceedings, which will include their corresponding ISSN registration.
- July 31: new deadline for submitting paper abstracts using the official template for publication in the 25th International Image Festival catalogue.
- August 10: new registration payment deadline. Payment is required for papers and authors to be included in the Academic Forum program.
- August 15: deadline for submitting full papers using the official template. Submissions will enter the peer-review process conducted by members of the Forum’s Scientific Committee.
- August 31: deadline for submitting the digital presentation and confirming participation format, either in person or remotely.
- September 15: poster presentations at the University of Caldas in Manizales, Orlando Sierra Building, Level 2.
- September 15–18: paper presentations across four thematic panels at the University of Caldas. Sessions will take place in the Carlos Nader, Humberto Gallego and Roberto Vélez auditoriums.
Visualities in Resonance creates a space to explore new relationships among design, image, body, memory and technology.
In this way, the International Academic Forum on Design and Creation 2026 strengthens the exchange between research, creative practice and critical reflection within the International Image Festival.
